So after a long break (busy with life, I don't even recall exactly what now), I restarted Uber-ing last week! I was a little apprehensive because my last drive wasn't exactly very profitable. Nonetheless, I have some credits to use, so I decided to make time and do it.
Fortunately, it was a very busy night. I got my first ping from Northpoint Shopping Centre even before I drove out of the carpark! Furthermore, my trips were mostly short distance, I had a couple of pool matches, and my car was hardly empty. Overall, it was a very good night.
Here are the results of my efforts (spreadsheet template can be downloaded
here):
 |
Before incentives. Very bad hourly earnings. 4:44 Uber online time must have something to do with it |
 |
After adding in all incentives. Hourly earnings improved even when I calculate using the rental time (from the time I pick up car to the time I return) |
 |
$10 worth of smove credits are not included in this number. Check app.smove.sg to make sure the credits are credited in |
So as you can see, incentives are vital for Uber-ing to be meaningful financially. As I've
mentioned earlier, if you wish to boost your hourly earnings, it is good to plan your rental hours such that you finish just enough trips to hit a desired tier of Cash King. See below for a negative demonstration. Don't do this!
