Driving for Uber, like any new endeavour in life, can be an intimidating experience, especially if there is no one to guide you along. Here's my humble attempt to walk you, step by step, through the process of getting started driving UberFlex Club.

1. Sign up for an account with both Uber and smove by following the instructions and using the links here. If you need my mobile number to get your $100 referral bonus, please drop me an email or Facebook message. Don't worry about the vehicle documentation during the Uber signup process; smove will handle it. 
2. Prepare your tools. I have prepared a detailed list with a second part here, but some obvious items would be handphone mounting bracket, car charger, and lots of spare change for cash-paying passengers.
3. Book a car. You can do so at app.smove.sg. You have to select your starting/ending time, and pickup/return locations. Don't forget to select "Drive for Uber" to get the discounted rental prices. A minimum of 1 trip/hr is required to enjoy the discounted rental prices.
4. Do some homework. Read through this blog. Learn where to find passengers, how to save mobile data, how to earn money from topping up fuel, how to use the Uber Driver app for navigation, and most importantly, how to maximize earnings and stay alive while driving.
5. Get enough rest. This is obvious. Coffee/Red Bull/Monster Energy/Coke are not good substitutes for sleep, by the way.
6. Start your first trip! The car is released to you 15 mins before your actual booking start time, sort of a grace period. Be there a few minutes in advance so you wouldn't be in a hurry. Once you get the SMS with your car plate number, give the car a quick check for damages, get in, and start driving!
