Ever wondered why ERP in Singapore is so expensive, and yet the roads are still so jammed?? My guess is... Wait, that's not the point of this article lol
The main point is to suggest a way in which you can track your ERP reimbursements more easily.
Disclaimer: this only applies to Android users. Unfortunately for iPhone users, the NFC reader is unavailable for use by all third-party apps. You also have to use your CEPAS ez-link card to pay for your ERP.
So as you probably already know, all ERP is paid by riders when they are in the car. Uber is supposed to add the ERP charges automatically as "Tolls" in the trip earnings breakdown, but unfortunately it often screws up. The way to rectify it is to go to the trip history, select the trip, select "Issues with my fare", and select "ERP toll was not processed". There will then be a page for you to list the total toll amount, and the details of the gantries you passed through and the amounts paid. Conveniently, all ERP gantries have a unique number, and you can just list the gantry numbers and toll amounts paid.
I know, you're probably asking how the heck would I know what's the gantry number?! In fact, I passed through so many gantries this morning, how the heck am I gonna remember all the gantries and the money paid?!
This is when my suggestion comes in handy. Again, doesn't help if you don't have an Android phone with NFC feature, or if you don't use a ez-link card to pay for ERP
Basically, you download the My EZ-Link Mobile app from the Google Play Store and use it as a card reader to view the last 20 or so transactions made on your ez-link card. It conveniently lists all the ERP gantry numbers and even carpark gantry transactions! This way, you can accurately track all the payments made and check to see that you've been reimbursed correctly. You still have to match the transactions (using the time stamp) to your trips, and raise an issue with Uber if any mistakes are found, but at least you will not have to manually track all your ERP payments or worry about missing out anything.
Incidentally, smove also accepts this screenshot if you had forgotten or somehow failed to get a receipt when exiting the carpark.
Lastly, since we are on the topic of ERP, Uber is running a trial for selected drivers in which they would reimburse ERP incurred while en route to pick up riders. You just have to go to trip history, select the trip, select "I incurred a pickup toll", and follow the instructions. If you can't find the option, you are not one of the chosen, I guess.
