TL;DR: I made about $208 last week for about 10h of driving, which translates to about $20.60/h of earnings. Read on to see how I calculate this number!
Once in awhile, questions will be raised regarding how much a driver can actually earn driving for UberFlex Club and smove. It is a good question. There are many factors which affect your earnings, such as petrol discounts, Cash King, and even bonus smove credits which are not added into the final earnings page in the app.
Strictly speaking, any money you earn is yours, even if you don't know how much the amount is. (duh). But it's nice to be able to tally up earnings conveniently, to know if you are achieving your objectives of making enough* pocket money in your spare time. I, for one, definitely like to have some idea what my effort is getting me.
Enter my handy MS Excel calculator, which I have made available for everyone to download! Key in your information in the grey cells only. The other cells have been locked.
Here's a summary of my earnings last week:
To me, this is enough* pocket money for the effort, and luckily because of the flexible rental arrangments I can simply stop if I decide this isn't enough!
I'll be driving again this week, to save up for the weekend's activities. Feel free to join me by signing up! You'll get, among other things, free 1 week of rental + fuel, and $100 signup bonus! Even better than what I'm getting now. I'd be jealous.
*"Enough" is subjective. Think about your practical alternatives and constraints and manage your expectations accordingly. This is Singapore, after all. Money doesn't come easy :( Hard truths :(( But of course, if you have better alternatives than this, then that's a different story :)
I don't quite understand with the smove petrol system.
ReplyDeleteSo we get free petrol?
Are you referring to the free first week of petrol?
DeleteFor Uber + smove, petrol is not charged directly, in the sense that you are not required to refuel after each drive. Instead, you are charged for the mileage you use, to help cover their petrol cost.
For the first week after signing up and making your first drive, this mileage charges are waived, along with the rental charges.
My other point about the petrol pertains to refueling the tank. While you're not required to refuel the car, there may come a time when the car you get is low on fuel, and you need to refuel in order to continue driving. In such cases, just fill full tank, 92 or 95 petrol. Take a photo of the receipt and upload it through My Booking in app.smove.sg. They will reimburse you the raw price of the fuel, before any discount. It is thus beneficial for you to get as much discounts as you can, since you get to keep it.
Hope that helps!
